Dr Caroline LAW (Assistant Professor, Faculty of Design and Environment) is conducting a research project on yard waste management, and now recruiting 6-8 student helpers to conduct survey on street for the project.  

Criteria: 

  • Outgoing 
  • Talkative 
  • Proficient in Cantonese and English 
  • Open to all full-time undergraduate students at THEi (Preferences will be given to Year 1–3 students in AY 2021/22) 

The job description: 

  1. There are 18 designated locations for the survey.   
  1. ONLY ONE student helper could sign up to conduct the survey at a designated location. 
  1. A student helper could sign up for a maximum of 3 designated locations. 
  1. At each designated location, a student helper is advised to conduct the survey for about a total of 12 hours (maximum).  
  1. The time allocation of the survey in each location are as follows: 
  • Weekdays afternoon (12 noon – 2 pm): TWO hours 
  • Weekdays evening (4 pm – 8 pm): FOUR hours 
  • Weekend (within 10 am – 6 pm (up to 1-hour lunch break)): SIX hours 
  1. Student helper is expected to complete an interview in approximately 7 – 8 minutes. A student helper is supposed to complete 8 interviews in an hour. 
  1. Upon completion of 8 interviews, you will receive HK$50. 
  1. You will be paid according to every 8 COMPLETED INTERVIEWS. The rate is set as follows:

  1. Student helper should possess a mobile phone or tablet computer device. S/he will be asking questions to the informants at the designated locations and marking their answers on their own phone or device. 
  1. Transport expense (from and to your home) could be reimbursed. 
  1. The job period is from June to August, 2022. The working period will be adjusted or postponed according to the development of COVID-19 pandemic.
