Virtual gaming has become a great alternative to enrich students’ extra-curricular socialisation and learning under the pandemic. THEi SDO organised an online team building activity in February, to connect students with their classmates or new friends through the virtual escape game.
The virtual escape game is based on a story of Vaccine Research Centre where a research professor is loses contact and is deemed MIA (missing in action) after he successfully developed the vaccine formula. Being the members of a special action team, student participants needed to cooperate in teams to obtain the vaccine sample and send it out from the research centre to the airport within 60 minutes to alleviate the pandemic. They were required to take up different roles in the teams according to their personalities. The teams need to work closely and communicate effectively to tackle a series of challenges on the screen.
Some students shared that the virtual game activity facilitated them to collaborate with their fellow team mates and enhanced their communication and problem-solving skills, which was an interesting and joyful learning experience for them.
