Quick Guide to use Classroom Support Systems

In case you were not able to join the training on classroom support systems on 30 and 31 August 2021, we would like to provide the following information to facilitate your teaching in the new AY2021-22.

We would like to highlight the below two systems:

• Wireless Presentation: All the classroom, lecture theatres and PC Labs are equipped with Apple TV (for iOS devices) and Extron in CW Teaching Rooms and TY Lecture Theatres (for Windows and Android devices, and install an app that can be used throughout the four years of study). Both devices requires selection of the correct Wi-Fi. Students can then project their presentation for the whole class.
• Class Attendance System (CAS): CAS can help to record students’ attendance, it requires students to use the wall card reader (near the entrance) or the instructor lectern card readers. Teaching staff can check the latest class register (updated daily), check the attendance record, and identify any irregularities, e.g., students do not enroll the course but attend the class. If students do not attend class more than one time, teaching staff may work with the Faculty administrative staff to follow-up in order to offer help if it is needed.
• Note. CAS will only record 5 minutes before the class starts. Earlier than this time, it would NOT be recorded in the CAS system and report. Please remind students when they tap the StudentID Cards.

Moreover, IT and audio-visual equipment in the following 31 teaching rooms, 4 computer labs in CW Campus and 16 teaching rooms, 2 computer labs in TY Campus are managed by IT Services of LCDI.

*Printing services and scanning services are provided in above computer Laboratories managed by IT Services of LCDI.
