The new semester of AY2021/22 will start on 24 Jan 2022.

Please find below some points noted for technology support learning.

MS Teams (Guidebook for Teacher using Microsoft Teams)

  • Conducting Online Class: MS Teams is available for conducting online class. It is also easy to use MS Teams to make lecture recordings. You can download the video file and share with students after.
  • User Account: If teaching staff would like to use the file folder to share learning resources with students, you need to use the teacher’s account to login and to create MS Teams Meeting (t-account). It is because the One Drive for staff account and student account are separated.

Moodle

  • THEi Moodle: Please start creating courses for the new semester of AY2021/22 on the “THEi Moodle system for AY2122“.
  • Activities: You may make use of the Moodle functions to engage students, such as, announcement, discussion forum, quiz, assignment, calendar and so on. Please also add the “Completion” option in each activity to keep track of students’ learning. The Moodle Reporting Tool can better capture students’ learning.   • Video Recording Clips at Moodle:
    • Kindly please upload the video into the Panopto system (https://vtc.ap.panopto.com) and share the link or create an embedded video (Do NOT select autoplay) in the “THEi Moodle system for AY2122” (https://moodle2122.thei.edu.hk [Link] ) course (Panopto Quick Start Guide, [Link]).
    • Please do not directly use the drag and drop method to upload videos from your hard drive/desktop to THEi Moodle.
    • Panopto is a dedicated video archive for storing videos of lectures. But Moodle isn’t.
    • If lecture recording is uploaded Moodle is going to use all its capacity really quickly and slow down the platform.
